wowan riding equipments

The women’s World Tour team will increase from 9 in 2021 to 14 in 2022. What equipment do these teams use? Let’s take a look at what’s different from the men’s WorldTour team.

Canyon-SRAM

Guess what equipment the Canyon-SRAM team will use, the name of the team has already told you. The Canyon Aeroad CFR is an “all-around” aero road bike used by Canyon-sponsored teams. The groupset is SRAM’s latest Red eTap AXS, SRAM offers a family of barrel accessories, Zipp wheels and Time pedals, and the power meter is undoubtedly from Quarq. Zipp is a pioneer in hookless tubeless tires, and the Zipp 303 is fitted with the Shiwen Pro One tubeless tire. The Shiwen Pro One and One are the perfect match for Zipp wheels, easy installation and excellent air tightness without self-rehydration.

German brand Ergon supplies the seat cushions, Garmin supplies the computer, and Tacx supplies the bottle cage. Lastly, Canyon-SRAM’s paint job is absolutely eye-catching.

EF Education-Tibco-SVB (EF Education-Tibco Team)

EF Education-Tibco-SVB is a new WorldTour team with some of the same sponsors as the men’s team (EF Education). The frame is from Cannondale, and the latest Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 Di2 groupset is installed on the SuperSix EVO, but the crankset is replaced by Cannondale’s Hologram, and the power meter is from 4iiii. But early in the season, some riders were still using R9100 cranks. FSA supplies the handlebars and stem, and FSA’s sister company Vision supplies the Metron wheels with Vittoria tires, which you can see in the photo use tubeless tires. Wahoo sponsored the Element Bolt computer, Kickr trainer and Speedplay pedals. Prologo provides the seat cushion and handlebar straps.

FDJ-Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Futuroscope (FDJ New Aquitaine-Futuroscope Team)

The frame is from Lapierre. Riders will choose the aero Aircode DRS or the lightweight Xelius SL3. Interestingly, Xelius uses the new Shimano Dura-Ace R9200, while Aircode uses the previous generation Dura-Ace R9100. Maybe the new group is not fully in place. From the photos, both bikes use Dura-Ace R9100 wheels with Continental Competition Pro LTD tubulars, but we also saw the new Dura-Ace C50 wheels in action. Shimano also provides pedals, the saddle is Prologo, and the bottle cage is Elite.

Human Powered Health

This is also the newly upgraded WorldTour team, using Felt AR and FR frames, FSA and Vision jointly provide the handlebars, stem, wheels, and tires are Goodyear. The kit is a SRAM Red eTap AXS and the power meter is a Quarq. But the team isn’t on SRAM’s sponsorship list, and the training bike is a Force eTap AXS.

LIV Racing Xstra (Liv-Tesla Team)

In 2022, LIV Racing will add Xstra to the team name, and the frame used is the Liv Langma Advanced SL Disc. Riders can also choose the Liv Enviliv Advanced Pro Disc aero road bike. SRAM is heavily involved in the women’s WorldTour team and also sponsors the team. The Liv Racing Xstra uses a SRAM Red eTap AXS and a Quarq power meter. The wheels are Cadex and there is no official tire sponsor listed, but the riders used Vittoria and Pirelli tires in the race and it looks like they will stick with tubulars this season. The saddle and handlebars are also from Cadex.

Team Movistar Women

Canyon sponsored the frame, SRAM sponsored the shifting, and Zipp provided the wheels. While the photo shows a 303 Firecrest with Continental Competition Pro LTD tubulars, Annemiek van Vleuten used Continental GP 5000 S TR tubeless tyres to win the Press Tour.

The Mobile Stars men’s and women’s teams use the same equipment, the bike is Canyon Aeroad CFR, the pedals are Look Keo, the computer is Garmin, and the bottle cage is Elite.

Team BikeExchange-Jayco

We know that this year Giant sponsored the bicycle trading team to return to the World Tour (a three-year contract, GIANT sponsored Team BikeExchange-Jayco, officially returning to the World Tour), and the Team BikeExchange-Jayco Women’s World Tour team is also the only team to change equipment this year. Bianchi switched to a Liv Langma Advanced SL Disc, otherwise the team still uses Shimano groupsets, the 12-speed Dura-Ace R9270 in the photo, but the crankset is still R9100. Not surprisingly, Cadex also sponsored the wheels, tires, handlebars and stem. The car shown uses Cadex 42 hookless tubeless wheels with Cadex tubeless tires, but we saw teams race Cadex 42 tubular wheels with Vittoria Corsa tubulars.

Team Jumbo Visma

The Jumbo women’s team and the men’s team use the same bikes, even the same paint job. Riders will opt for the new R5 and the yet-to-be-released S5, with shift kits and wheels from Shimano, although some riders are still using the previous-generation Dura-Ace R9100. Dura-Ace wheels with Vittoria Corsa tubulars, Fizik saddle, FSA sponsored handlebar and stem, Garmin sponsored computer. (The fourth-generation Cervélo S5 is exposed, giving a glimpse of the development direction of aerodynamic road bikes)

Team DSM (Team DSM)

The DSM women’s bike sponsorship is the same as last season, with riders primarily using Scott Addict RCs, with the option of Foil aero road bikes. Shimano is the official sponsor, providing the 12-speed Dura-Ace R9270 Di2 groupset, wheels and pedals, and PRO provides the saddle. Wahoo sponsored the stopwatch and Elite provided the bottle cage.

The photo shows the tubeless tire configuration, but we see that it will be replaced with tubular tires in the race, which is not surprising, so the tire sponsor is Vittoria, as long as the team sponsored by Vittoria will basically choose tubular tires.

Team SD Worx

The team believes in “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” and you can see that the configuration is exactly the same as last season, just with a new livery. S-Works Tarmac SL7 frame, SRAM Red eTap AXS groupset and Quarq power meter, ZIPP 353 NSW wheels with S-Works Turbo RapidAir tubeless tires. The computer is Garmin and the bottle cage is Tacx.

Team Trek-Segafredo (Team Trek-Segafredo)

Trek-Segafredo is another team that will keep their gear the same for the new season, with riders choosing between Madone or Emonda and SRAM Red eTap AXS. Bontrager Aeolus wheels with Pirelli P Zero Race TLR tubeless tires and Stans No Tubes self-filling.

UAE Team ADQ (Team Emirates)

UAE Team ADQ is also a new WorldTour team with a WorldTour license from ALE’ BTC Ljubljana and has received many riders. Colnago V3Rs are the main bikes, the kit is Campagnolo Super Record EPS, and the wheels are Campagnolo Bora Ultra with Pirelli tubular tires. The accessories are from Deda, the seat cushion is Prologo, the Elite bottle cage, which is almost all Italian configuration, only the Look pedals are from France.

Uno-X Pro Cycling Team

This is another newcomer to the 2022 World Tour. We are not familiar with the frame brand Dare. The riders will choose the MA-AFO group road bike or the VSRu aero road bike. The kit is a 12-speed Shimano Dura-Ace R9200, DT wheels Group, Shiwen tires, use tubeless configuration. Prologo saddle and Garmin computer.
